Russia's first plant for the production of composite blades for wind turbines
In the Ulyanovsk Region, Vestas Manufacturing Rus, has launched the production of composite blades for turbines of wind power plants that have no analogues in the Russian Federation. The installed capacity of the power equipment was 3.6 MW with the opportunity of increasing to 4.2 MW. The company was put into operation in December 2018.The partners of the project were Vestas, RUSNANO and the Consortium of Investors of the Ulyanovsk Region, which includes the Regional Development Corporation and the Nanotechnology Center. The unique production of wind turbine components was created under a special investment contract between Vestas Manufacturing Rus, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and the Ulyanovsk Region. The special investment contract was the first in the domestic power engineering industry. Vestas Wind Systems A/S is one of the world's largest and oldest manufacturer of wind turbines. The company was founded in 1898. Its factories are located in Denmark, Germany, India, Italy, Romania, Great Britain, Spain, Sweden, Norway, Australia, China, and the USA.
